Hi Guyzzz,

I just recently purchased Samsung EH 5000 and yesterday upgraded my Airtel dth with HDMI connection capable component unit.

Not opted for any full hd channels as of now.

What suprises me is, even after connecting DTH to telivision via HDMI there seems to be no solid enhacement in picture quality as they project it to be (sales reps). It is almost same as a set top box connection.
Is this what every one us getting?

Am I missing some thing.... What would be the optimal settings to attain best picture quality.(if at all it can be enhanced)

Your suggestions and experience please!!!!

All flat panel tv's are made for HD, so watching SD is not utilizing its maximum performance capacity. Make the switch to HD and it will amaze you. Also, keep the picture setting to warm or cinema and if possible get a calibration disc to calibrate your tv for the best picture possible.

I have a slightly different experience with TataSky. With HD box the HD channel are very good (obviously!), but the quality of non-HD channels is poorer compared to normal set-top box. Is this because the HD box is performing video upscaling to convert non-HD signals to HD and in the process screwing it up?
