All the speakers I made - suri

Hi Suri,
I've seen your creations and really amazed. Hats off to you dear.
from where do you purchase the speakers, as I'm having my Technics speaker whose both the tweeters and one mid range is blown up. Can you please suggest from where can i purchase good quality speakers.

Regards
Manpreet

hi manpreet, thanks.

do you want to replace the blown speakers?

or do you want to buy new loudspeakers?

ROBES FOR THE WITCHES!:)

they do look very regal, and, perhaps, better than the speakers themselves!

I see you got 'em clothes! Honestly, I like them without the robes. Trust me Suri, your speakers look regal enough, why are you not convinced about that?
Got the drivers?

hi iaudio -

yes, the drivers i have them - everything is ready except for the felt on the front baffle and the painting of the brass resonators (midnight blue).

once that is done - assembly will take two days. ( probably in two weeks time).

hi mnhegde -

american velvet - apparently, this is soft on both sides and will not mar the highly polished lacquered surface of the speakers.

regds, suri

edit - it has marred the highly polished surface because of it's weight.

hi manpreet,
it will be difficult to get those replacements - i will keep trying - and if i come acroos something i will let you know!

thanks for the inputs soundsgreat and audio_engr,

the silversmith came home today for detailed discussions - i showed him pictures, concepts and the need for binding posts on loudspeakers - i showed him WBT connectors and the connectors on soundsgreat's link - i also impressed upon him the need for a "gas-tight" connection between the two wires.

after that - i discussed with him an idea - and he thinks he can make it work - also it will look really good - apart from that- it will serve the end-objective better than commercially available binding posts ( however, it will be only one-way).

working prototype will be made of pure silver (slightly yellow and soft- he says) and will be delivered on thursday next - this same will be modified (with changes,if any) and used on "Witches of Ecstasy"

hehehe! - the witches will be born with a silver spoon in their ars@s!

positive and negative will be etched and enameled on the silver.

You are most welcome Suri,Glad was able to be of some assistance :)!!

Suri just one thing I'd like to tell, why are doing the prototype in Silver ?? its just for the rough idea of how the design will workout how it will have to be done etc etc right ? get it done in normal metal and see if it fits the bill (in every and any which way you'd want it to ),If all's well with the design and such then get it done in Silver, else unnecessary waste of money of the silver !! Today at close 22K (or so as of this post) its not cheap to play around for proto's at least not for me :p !!

Another thing Am sure you may have already known is, the Pure Silver is bit soft and for the said application it'd be better to add some other strong metal to give the overall hardness required for purpose !

Another thing is,if its ok with you I'd like to checkout the design and also probably with your permission would like to use it in my own designs if its as good as you say it would be !! Although I may not be able to get it Silver as you but would like to try for sure !

Regards.

i dont need the speakers of the same company(technics). Tweeters and midrange of any gud make will suffice. From where do you purchase the speakers. I just want to make my speakers up and running.

hi manpreet, good speakers are available on S.P. road Bangalore - if you have a friend in bangalore - send the blown drivers to him by courier - ask him to get replacements from S.P. road bangalore - you will ,surely, get them.
