Hi,
You are most welcome Suri,Glad was able to be of some assistance!!
Suri just one thing I'd like to tell, why are doing the prototype in Silver ?? its just for the rough idea of how the design will workout how it will have to be done etc etc right ? get it done in normal metal and see if it fits the bill (in every and any which way you'd want it to ),If all's well with the design and such then get it done in Silver, else unnecessary waste of money of the silver !! Today at close 22K (or so as of this post) its not cheap to play around for proto's at least not for me!!
Another thing Am sure you may have already known is, the Pure Silver is bit soft and for the said application it'd be better to add some other strong metal to give the overall hardness required for purpose !
Another thing is,if its ok with you I'd like to checkout the design and also probably with your permission would like to use it in my own designs if its as good as you say it would be !! Although I may not be able to get it Silver as you but would like to try for sure !
Regards.
hi soundsgreat,
apparently, he will be making the prototype - showing it to me - once approved will use the same piece for final touches and modifications-
the specification calls for creating a tube and a male and female metal plate (twist lockable) - and since pure silver is malleable, he said it would be easy to work with- the actual areas where strength is required silver alloy will be used (at the neck and the fixing points) but the conduction path will be pure silver.
i am quite excited about the design because i believe it eliminates (two) unnecessary junctions (at the, say, WBT binding posts), and allows for direct connection between the two wires - and also allows for gas-tight connection between them - i will post pictures as soon as i get them in my hand - any alterations - please suggest and it can be done.
if you like it, i would be happy if you used the design for your projects!
