Where can I buy aluminium enclosures for various components online? I am not interested in importing from outside India.

Silicon Ray, Hong Kong

Edit: I read it as "interested in importing from outside". My mistake.

Magma could be your best bet.

FWIW, here's an aluminium and wood amplifier cabinet fabricated entirely with local supplies and through a local machine shop. It was expensive, and took a lot of time to wet-sand and finish it to satisfactory standard, but I learned enough from the exercise to be able to do it better at lower cost in future iterations if needed.

Currently working on a cabinet for ODAC and O2. All wood (Teak), 6x4 in dimension using a single block of wood. I will try to complete it this weekend and start working on the aluminium cabinet prototyping.

Thanks,
Bibin

Nice enclosure linuxguru,

Which type of wood is used in front panel?

Thanks, I believe it is the Indian Kino, also known as Vijayasar, Narra, etc. It belongs to the Padauk family of hardwoods, of which the rarest and most expensive is Red Sanders, found only in a few locations in AP. OTOH, Kino is readily available and not endangered. IMHO, old-growth Kino has better and more beautiful grain than Rosewood/Teak/Sal/Sisam and other classic hardwoods.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
