I wonder today how much will be the difference in production cost between DVD and BD.

Production costs are the same. Difference comes in for transfering/ remastering the old film prints into HD. Many Studios seem to be happy to rake it profits on sales of under 20,000 copies ( unless it is/was a Major hit) at over $25 a disc. There are specialist producers like Twilight Time etc who sell a limited 3000 copies a movie, selling at times for around $35. Do not know much about the Hindi/Indian movie production costs, to , make a judgement.

Interesting info, so if we can crowd source, we can potentially get a BD released for a movie of interest. How is this in India, since you have quoted all in USD.

Yes really a great deal for Movies:clapping:.

I have ordered around 17 movies in total and all of them in Blu ray format and the total cost was around 3400 only so an average of 200 per film which is really very good :yahoo:.

The best thing with this deal is the 40% additional discount is applied on the already discounted price so the total discount is more than 60 - 70%. For e.g The Classic forever Yashji set came for around 639 so only 160 per movie.

Dear Dushie,

Ensure that the the seller is not "Entertainment Store, India" eventhough he is marked as Amazon fulfilled we are not getting the discount. You need to choose either Pritam Music or " Smart Buy Movies Storefront" to avail this additional discounts.

Even I had tried couple of times with this Entertainment Store, India and then had to cancel and reorder the items to get the discount.

Unlike most people, I like to use animation movies to show my HT. They have saturated colors and overall bright image (with very few localized points of brightness) and therefore hide the rainbow effect well. The size is usually 16:9 in most of the films. Sound effects are equally nice.

Just as an FYI, I found that Excel India does not use the slip-in slots (second of the attached pictures both of which aren't mine but from the Internet) kind of packaging for which there were complaints on Amazon US. Rather they use the slim plastic holders in a book format as in the first of the attached pics which means they are a lot easier to extract but not as much artwork possible as with the paper slots approach.
