As a kid I also used to listen to this program. I don't remember how i came to know about it but i used to religiously hear it every week at around 830 or 9 PM

May his soul RIP

Very sad to hear that. Still remember his magical enthusiastic voice for Binaca Geet mala. May his soul RIP.

Don't remember hearing him live but his voice and narrations in the binaca geethmala cassette and Cds is still live in Memory, great voice and great human being.
Om Shanti ๐Ÿ™, Om Sadgati ๐Ÿ™

Never got to like his way of announcing (as if talking to a child) in the program. But admired his long term commitment to the countdown program and role in making film music popular with the listeners. The world of films is so fascinating - it spawns so many diverse and niche careers.

RIP Ameen ji.
