amplifier required for a sony subwoofer?

i own a hyundai eon and it has the in built music player from hyundai
With 4 speakers of sony xplod.
Im planning to add a 12inch subwoofer to it.
Is it required to buy a amplifier?

Yes you will need a sub with an active crossover to drive the sub.

Best is to check out a few car audio stores, they will give you options. I don't use a sub in my car so I cant offer suggestions-my subs are only for home use.

dolby, FYI, I just added sony 2 channel amplifier for my Wagon r. A decent upgrade I should say....
visit sony india website -> car section-> amplifiers and HU. there is one for 4990. i went for that...

my car has an in built HU.

I have now installed 2 front and 2 rear sony explod speakers and a SUB woofer. need to purchase an AMP as woofer does not get enough support from HU im using.

How much did it cost you and how is the sound quality. I too have Eon Magna+ and it has built in HU. Looking for similar setup.
