Lucky chap are you. Now you have all the time to pursue your hobby and passion. I wish i was in your place and could quit my job so easily. Fed up with this constant travelling.

Hey, are we not going very very off topic to the original thread. I know all are very eagerly waiting for the final images of the TL FS speakers and are excited about the final outcome. As it is always said 'Sabar ka fal methi hoti hai'.

Yes, No.. it is not much off-topic, but related to AVD job change and also it is certainly needed to keep this thread live and also the excitement If you think this is unwanted AVD can ask mod to lock this thread and it can be reopened once the final image is ready

Had the pleasure of listening to avidyarthy's ATLs made by Hari over the weekend..my impressions:

1. Mind blowing low end..hari played a jazz cd..the sound of the solo bass guitar felt like it was being played in front of us..and absolutely clean sound..no boominess, no stress in the sound.

2. Voice clarity was in a different league IMHO in anything in this price range, frankly, I am not knowledgeable enough to say which speaker might compare with this, but I haven't heard any which has.

3. For better clarity, we were doing A/B comparison with a pair of hari's old bass reflex bookshelf speakers (also quite good, comparable to any speaker on the market below 20k). And the difference was night and day on both vocals and instruments, the ATL was simply much much more transparent, and felt the impression of a live show.

4. In busy songs that I carried along , (dire straits, eagles, metallica, faith no more, guns & roses) the difference (keeping the bookshelf as the benchmark of an average speaker that most people would have heard), the difference was less apparent, but still on acoustic songs the clarity of the background instruments was very good compared to the bookshelf. For metals, the TL was simply too polite..as it was clearly tuned by hari for better midrange, not for reproducing distortion music.

All in all have come back very impressed. Although I am no expert in this, I cannot think of any speaker that I have heard till now have I heard instruments being rendered with this transparency before!

I am leaving tomorrow at 10:45AM and it will be difficult to demo before that due to the rush involved before vacation. You are free to come today anytime before 8PM as i am working from home today. After that you have option on 25th & 26th. You always have a chance of hearing them at the owners place at New Delhi after this month anytime and AVid will be more than happy to give you an audition.

In reality it is costly to go to Delhi than to Mumbai in perspective of Baroda's location.

I can make another speaker with that travel cost .

I wanted to listen to a DIY TL as I have not heard it yet.

Most probably I will be in Munich soon, and can hear some good so called hi-fi brand products, and may be some DIY friend's creation too (who knows)!
