Antelope Audio Zodiac Gold

@ Denom,

Zodiac on genelec ! This must be a super linear system akin to what you hear in studio / near field setup. Would love to hear this one day. Thanks Denom for the update.

Mmmm yes... indeed a studio-class set up. Throw in room treatment, and there would be no limit to the accuracy of the sound.

Denom, when are you going to buy the big mixing desk to sit in front of?

trittya's link has a link to an interview with the Antelope guy himself, which is interesting. Just one snippet...
My philosophy is that the converters should be transparent. Any sound shaping should be done by dedicated devices (equalizers, compressors, tape simulators, tubes, transformers) that are designed for the purpose and have a great degree of adjustability and control. To have a 'colored' converter is like having a camera with a pink-colored lens. You do not always want all your pictures pink, do you?

Its a super linear trip, if I listen to it for too long, I can't listen to any other system & enjoy music, so its also very dangerous! Good that the dac has fallen to pieces

Now if that trip to the studio happens soon, err

Denom, it seems that the Antelope DAC is very very very low noise... so low that it has even put you on mute! LOL!
