My Polks sound so anemic every summer because of the low voltage power supply. Even the fans don't spin at full speed.
Turning up the volume doesn't help. They don't have the same 'oomph' as before. I could feel the sound being 'thrown' from the speakers, as if it was 'hung' in the air in the middle of the room. Now, I can hear the sounds coming from the speakers and they don't have the same resonance as always.
Every summer is the same damn thing. It's getting quite frustrating waiting for July. In certain more demanding scenes, the receiver shuts off, unable to power the speakers.
My current crossover is 80 hz and I'm wondering if I should pass more of the low-end frequencies to the subwoofer instead to lighten the load for the receiver.
