I am looking to do a DIY build of the TK2050 mono amp sold by arjen on eBay. Just wanted inputs on what power supply should be procured for this build?

Read a few posts on diyaudio and noticed a few users using a single 24v 5A smps to run both the boards.

I have a few questions
1) does it make sense power the boards using a smps for each board?
2) could a toroid transformer be used to power both the boards?

I'm a newbie to DIY and have no knowledge in electronics, soldering etc...

Looking for your valuable inputs

Just saw this.

You can use both kind of power supply with 24V-0 single rail. SMPS as well as linear both will do and have more or less same results.

For SMPS, 24V 5A/channel will do. You need to buy two and power each mono separately.
For linear you need little bulky PS. 18V, 300VA for both channels.

I feel go ahead with good quality SMPS! I could not locate one above 12V.

arjen helder is well regarded in diy community for his T-amps. u can purchase his boards with trust. in an email communication i put a similar question about SMPS suitability. as per his reply and some forum discussions, T-amps audio performance is not very much affected (means ill effects of SMPS are negligible) by switching power supply. please keep us updated about your experience with this amp

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
