Sorry if this has been asked and answered before. Can Asus O Play pass through HD Audio ie., DTS MA HD, Dolby True HD in 5.1, 7.1 etc?

nope!!!! I tested this player last week at my place. And no luck with HD audio. It downmixes it to 5.1 surround

Aneel ..so the manufacturer is lying on specs sheet right?

What version of firmware was it on? I think from v1.29 onwards this might have been taken care of.

my friend, what you've posted is all correct but it's w.r.t the media players chip, and further more these media player companies are fooling customers specially regarding this HD audio. I've tested the Asus oPlay media player with FW ver 1.3 and it dose not bitstream HD audio.

Any other owner can you please confirm this????

Thats what even this link confirms, the chipset on this box is without the '+' and hence cannot play which validates your test

Hey Maite, My Asus Air came with 1.18 FW. Could you please guide me where to get the 1.3 FW. I am struggling with enabling UPnP. The freaking O play is not getting detected at all.

asus o play media player is good if u shell ur hard earned money for one year but after that it is gods destiny. not a reliable product. they give replacemnt during warranty but after that you have to scratch here and there.:lol:
