I am about to purchase Polo/Micra in a weeks time.

As I am completely novice on CAR ICE. Looking for suggestions for a setup within 30K (Extendable in necessary by another 10K).
Should be able to read FLAC files. Good if I can have bluetooth integration for answer calls..

Pls. suggest.

I have done my ICE from Evo, Cambridge Layout. His name is Satya nice guy will give you lots of options and honest pricing with all the fittings based on the budget. You can try there for different combinations.

Yes I have not come across any HU which plays FLAC. To overcome this limitation what I have done is convert the files which I listen on HU to ALAC and store it in my iphone and the same is played on the HU through the iphone usb cable. You can do the same as any apple device ipod/ipod touch/iphone plays ALAC and I think the quality is the same as FLAC.

I completely took out the HU and replaced it with a dock holder. An aux cable directly connects my dock to the amplifier. I use portable players like cowon. Works like a charm for me.

Catch is: I don't use CD's in the car anymore.

For flac you will need a carputer

If you are into pcs you can mange that
Otherwise Satya has options

But you are looking At 30k alone just for the carputer solution

Otherwise look at
Illusion Audio, jbl Components in front

Look at a 2 channel amp to drive them
Jbl would be a vfm option followed by a kenwood

For the rear
You can think of either jbl or ground zero 6by 9 s
Directly connected to the hu

Hu think
Kenwood or alpine depending on budget
Should have a minimum of 2 pre outs for futur upgrades

Ideally I don't like 6by 9 because the hat rack gets fixed
Instead I use a sub with neutriks
Which I can remove when I need the boot

However when the sub enters you will need a 4 channel
Amp and a wiring kit
Now you are looking at 50k

There are some Kenwood HUs that support Flac. But not sure about the availability. But many HUs can read WAV. With the USB drives being so cheap, there is no point in worrying about the file size. Worst case, add a usb powered external hdd.

I think WAV format over USB drives are not supported by most of the HUs but over the CD I think it might support. Not sure about the same.

Have you checked out team-bhp.com?
