This is my daughter trying to fiddle with the system.
She can hardly stand !!!

( I have closed all plug points/sockets and wires are out of her reach.
Magma's heavy stands coupled with BlueTak to secure the speakers prevents her from toppling the speakers. )

PS : which are those lovely speakers and whats the source and amp like ?

Looking forward to hearing more about the equipment and the way it sounds.

I have packed my turntable for the timebeing. The sources are a NAD CD player and a Musical Fidelity M1Clic network player with active set-up from Acoustic Portrait (including speakers).

Your system looks really neat, besides making it kid friendly and safe. Nice setup!

You daughter is cute. Hope she grows fondness for music rather than equipment :)

Wow... she is so cute... and playing with the audio equipment is priceless.

I'd agree with the sentiments of starting her young... both music and reading are priceless as hobbies or "objects" of passion.

Cute kid and a very nice setup you have there. Congratulations!

The speaker stands and the wooden shelf look fantastic.

Is this active setup from AP based on the Swara pre-power combo or is it something higher up in their chain? What drivers are being used in your AP speakers?

Best,
APK

Lucky daughter, one day she will inherit Doc's treasure chest ;)

Provided it still is considered a treasure then !

It is based on AP Swara. Scanspeak (old) woofer, vifa silk dome tweeter.

Please make sure she always crawls on axis and ne'er off axis

Good one !

shivam,

please share more details about the powered speakers, the drivers, the sound presentation, the pricing.. maybe some more closeup pics when you are comfortable.

I also notice many other boes on the rack.. what are they ?

mpw

I'll do that soon.

That's one nice moment captured. It seems she knows what she is doing. lol

BTW I feel the speakers are placed too close. Is that all you could manage in positioning?

They were moved to help me in cleaning but I am a lazy fellow. I have not yet got down to cleaning and shifting them back to their original positioning.
No one in my house is permitted to clean this part of the room. I do it myself.

She knows that to play the music or to change some buttons can be pressed on the player. Maybe the song that was playing then was not upto her taste.

I actually have the exact same problem as my 10 month old is getting super curious about everything. Unfortunately, in my case, the speakers are mini monitors and are fairly light. I too have blue tac but i still fear the speakers toppling. More importantly, my wife is quite worried. Someone else also suggested museum putty but I'm not going to take the chance.

I am in the process of replacing the monitors with floorstanders.

You have a lovely daughter :-)

Another thing that works is 'poster tape' instead of BlueTac.
Floor standers can also easily topple especially those with small foot print and high center of gravity.

Whatever speakers you use, always use them with the 'grill on' in front of your little one.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
