Although I like the convenience of banana plugs etc. which I have used for over 20 years in high end systems, I recently bought a pair of speaker cables which are bare wire. I cannot for the life of me tell the difference. The cables are very expensive (almost in the 5 figures in USD) and the system is very high end and therefore should be revealing of any short-comings. I can't tell any difference.....I would say, don't worry about it. Use whatever you get...believe me there are far more exciting things to worry about in the world of audiophilia!
