I dont think anyone will oppose extending ...Only thing we need to confirm from Danny reg availability of kits ...
 
I am for extending deadline but the next deadline should be rigid one. There will always be some people who missed the bus and I dont want anyone to miss such a good deal. But, we have to close it at some time and hence, it is important that we stick to next deadline. We should also get clarification from Danny regarding the availability of the kits.

Is there any clarity on the timeline for dollar value returning to regular levels? I have very less knowledge in this area and hence am not sure.

@Capt, any clarity on custom duty?

Let us get more clarity on shipping + customs asap and not wait for another deadline. I don't think it would be fair for us to hold up Danny for a very long period as he would be losing money on storage etc.

Consider the deadline as over, and any further requests are on discretion of Capt. (including mine :D ). So decide and make requests asap.

I agree to anm. Even if we consider to extend, it should be for a finite period. Maybe till we figure out customs and shipping and also the flatpacks from Ruben.
I dont think we can predict if rupee value will head north or south in the coming days even though i hope it will head south ;).

Missed your post earlier Sajith, In fact my MTM's finish was inspired by Ruben's creations.
As you can see from the below picture, I couldn't strike the same mirror finish... but hoping to get better results in my next build :)

Rupee is at it's highest now & AFAIK, it can only head South. If you have been seeing the trend, you would notice that dollar value is linked to the stock market. FII's pump in money when the stock market is low. This continues for some time during which, the market keeps rising and the dollar continues to fall vis a vis rupee. At some time they start selling and the market starts to fall and the dollar starts rising. (I have no idea when they decide to pull out) If you notice, this is a cycle. Unfortunately, we are at the wrong end of the cycle.

The group buy is not open but I see that some FMs are interested to join in and I'm advising them to post their requirements. As long as their order can be accommodated in the pallet, I find no harm in taking them along.

I'm awaiting the volume/weight information from Danny.

Spoke to him & he promised to get back. BTW forgot to post some heads up. Imports come in through courier & cargo modes. All imports by individuals come by courier mode which is expensive. Only companies can import via cargo mode for which, one needs to have a registered company & an IE code.

My friend in the freight forwarding company is willing to pick up the cargo from Danny at Iowa Park & deliver at Chennai at the best possible rates but cannot arrange an importer. Your friend promised to get us one. Lets see how it works out.

Absolutely correct but I'm given to understand that temp IEC is only applicable for consignment by courier mode.
