Pallet number 1 is 48" by 48" and 55" tall. It weighs 820 pounds.

Pallet number 2 is 48" by 48" by 54" tall and weighs 509 pounds.

They need to be picked up from the following address:

I'm not a clearing agent. So I cannot do it. We need someone who will undertake the shipping and deliver us the goods after getting the consignment cleared from customs.

Also, we need one agency to handle shipping as well as customs or else each of them would blame the other if anything goes wrong.

hmm - I thought you were working on resolving that part. Of course we know you are not a clearing agent. But you have met Custom officers etc so I was under the impression that you will be able to handle it. Sorry - a little confuse.

So were the above quotes you posted were for both shipping and custom clearance?

Have already sent them an email, let's see what we get. DTDC probably doesn't do ocean shipping but maybe they can find one agent.

What is the status with the 3 vendors you got quotes from? I just sent email to Danny to update on this thread.

I'll revert with complete details on Monday."

I have been a bit tied up with preparation for this show: Lone Star Audio Fest Now that the show is behind me I can devote more time to getting this shipment handled.

I need someone to receive it on that end to make this work fellows. If the Captain is not that guy now can someone else volunteer?

I've got feedback from the shipping guys that there was no response from you when their counterparts tried reaching you. Appears there is a big communication gap.

I need someone to receive it on that end to make this work fellows. If the Captain is not that guy now can someone else volunteer?

For the past one week, I've been tied up with some official work and unable to devote anytime. I'll get free tomorrow and visit the three shipping guys and finalise one.

If you think someone can do a better job, I'll be happy to handover the volunteering work to them.

now we made payments because danny had the shipping covered ..now there is no shipper /shipping in sight ...its getteng messier i say.

This was one of the US companies that I got quotes from.

It is much higher for me to book here and ship to you than for it to be booked there and picked up. This was one reason I was having the Captain book it.

I'll book with them today even at the higher price and get this moving, but I have to have someone there on that end to receive the order. If the Captain can still do this then I need for him to let me know so I can proceed. If not then I need to stick on some new labels on the pallets with someone else's receiving info on it.

Whoever receives it will need to break down the pallets and ship each labeled box to the customer.

You guys let me know and I'll get this going.

I'm ready and willing to take this to logical conclusion. I do not understand where I've posted anything contrary to that.

Customs clearance is needs an expert and that is why, a clearing agent is required. FYI, The customs officials have given special permission for undertaking this particular import on my letter head so technically speaking, if anyone wants to now take this up will have to make fresh efforts. Of course, I'd render all possible assistance if that happens.

i have already tried to do this at my end
Mumbai requires the IEC number for sure otherwise we are charged "personal" import duties which are higher than commercial ones when pallets are involved
Now yes getting an IEC is not difficult - but once you get an IEC you have to show the 17000$ entry under your company name in its books - this is a problem

capt i should also tell you - be prepared to do what i hinted to you in my mail
with the letter you have it should not be a problem

Danny is paying for the clearances and shipping right
Let him tell you the sum ( taking into account teh shipping quote HE has rcd)
USE that money as you see fit ( for you know what!)
