CA Minx Series - first impression

Are the satellites speakers of Minx 2** and 3** same? I went to ProFx for audition of Mix 325, but they didn't have the speaker.

The Minx325 is a HT speaker package consisting of 5 Minx21 satellites with a X300 Sub.

The speakers I have are the Minx21 and the sub is the X200. I have it as a stereo setup.

Hi KS, I'm sure you are enjoying your Minx. I created a thread where I was too confused between Audioengine S8 and Minx 200 sub. I want them to be a part of my M audio Av40 and AE DAC D1.
If you please advice me how the Minx 200s 6.5" driver ( which is composed of aluminum ) sound with 2 passive radiator?

It has a steep price of 24K :( ..

Hi Dinesh. I haven't auditioned many subs, the only perspective I can give u is between the SWF150 & the X200. The X200 wont go very low but its feels tight and sounds good for any kind of genre thrown at it, where as the SWF150 is awesome for the movie setup, when it comes to music, I does vary from different types of music played. Among these 2 I feel the X200 is more musical, yeah it is at par the cost of the SWF150 but I really feel its every penny worth. I got it for 21K before the duties went up.

Hi Ks, Thanks for your quick reply. My office room is 8x10' and I think Minx 200 is sufficient for this size, wt do you say? With 6.5" alm driver would it give a real tight bass? I specially use it for music.

One more query..how this passive radiators on Minx sounds..does it give a slight different or better sound? I've never used subs with passive radiators before..

I have a one problem though, I'm still in doubts whether the Minx 200 Sub drive the active/powered speakers like my M-Audio AV40?..If yes I'll go for it. It's 24k in technoguru.

Any advice KS...

Thanks in advance

I feel the sub is really musical, doesn't feel boomy at all. It perfectly blends with my setup.

I cannot say anything about it sounding better, as I haven't listened to many subs. This is my first with passive radiators and this small too and I was surprised it can push out so much bass.

The Minx Sub has a Line Output which is Full range but the sub has to be switched On for signals to pass thru clearly. I was using my old active speakers (small ones),when I was on the look out for a new amp, it worked real fine. There was one thing I noticed when the sub is not ON, there is a low output which is distorted.

I got my sub before the excise duty hike, so don't know of current pricing. This sub is good in my opinion, but I cannot say its the end of line, there would be better subs at this price range I'm not aware of.
