can i change my dvd player lens by my self

it is not detecting dvd anymore shows as no disk....it is used very rarely....but because of long time no usage or i dont know why it shows like that.....

is it possible that i can change my dvd lens by myself

if it was working before you stored it, maybe just a leans cleaning would suffice.

i tried cleaning the lens with a lense cleaning cd but after it also no use,

can i able to replace the lens by myself if lens was the problem

i found for dvd lens head are available so can i replace by myself the whole dvd lens head, or it is a complicated job and without an expert i cant do it.

Compare the cost of a new DVD player before you start the adventure

Before changing lens,you can try tuning old lens by adjusting presets/trimmers on it.Sometime it works.Before tuning,just take a picture to remember original settings.
You can change new lens yourself,but if not mounted perfectly,it may not work.Also new lens may have a lock which has to be desoldered.
