Cleaning connections of Vintage items

Hi
I bought vintage amp. Want to know how to clean connections like RC connectors having some coating, speaker connector.
In Speaker connectors : need to insert cable inside hole. So not sure howmuch dust coating inside.

Another point:
Is there any way to test the cleaness of surface i.e. by measuring surface resistance etc. Rusted surface will have higher resistance

Contact cleaning solutions can be picked up from any electronics components store. These generally work very well. Personally I have always used WD40 with great results.

CRC 26 is basically an electrical contact cleaner which works well.
