Hello,

Attached is the photograph of the connection terminals of Collardo AC 47 - 78 RPM Record Player. This is a dual power motor for 130 & 230 Volts.

Please help me to connect to connect 230 V to this motor as the connecton diagram shown on the motor is confusing me.

Thanks in advance.

Suresh Babu

I am absolutely not an expert in electronics but it seems a set of connectors are to be used for 120/110 volt and other for 230 volt.

But which ones is hard to understand.

If someone has experience with similar player maybe some information can be got

The coil connections are for for 200/250 volts as seen in the pics, but the mains supply is not connected properly.

Where is the green wire leading? If you have connected a three core mains cable, then green is safety earth, black is neutral and red is live.
The terminal where green has been connected should be connected to the neutral in case of both two core or three core wire. The live should be connected to the topmost terminal where no wire is connected right now. The live should be coming through the internal switch of the player.
The green wire from the three core cable should be connected to the player chassis and/or the motor casing.

You have to ensure that the plug sockets in your home have the live at the right side when you are facing them and your equipment plug should be wired and inserted accordingly.

The funda is as follows
This applies to all players with dual voltage motors such as Garrard, Lenco etc.

The motor has two coils, each is rated at 110/120 volts. Connecting them in series gives you 220/240 volts, parallel is 110/120 volts. In this Collaro, one coil is the top thumbscrew and the red wire, the second one is the yellow wire and the bottom thumbscrew. You can confirm this with a multimeter set to DCR measurement.
