Connecting 2sets of speakers for single AVR

Hi,

I have a 7.1 speaker setup and getting a towers for stereo listening.

Still havn't brought AVR for the new setup. Planning to buy DenonX-2000

My query is - How will i connect my tower-stereo speaker to the AVR?

The best possible method is to have a 2 WAY PARALLEL SPEAKER SWITCH, which is expensive.

Check the DIY section where some FMs have done a switch box economical and cost effective solution for the same as your requirement. You can try it out.

The gizmo linked by you seems to connect 2 sets of 4 ohm to run in parallel.

What is your objective?

Out of curiosity, which two speakers do you wish to play?

Your query is not clear. Do you want to connect the same set of Front Towers to either an Amp or an AVR depending on usage ( Stereo Music or Movie)

If yes the two methods are:

a) Buy an AVR with Pre outs and connect the AVR pre outs to the Amp
or
b) Buy a selector switch to select the source for the speakers.

In my current setup, i.e. 7.1 - I have Bose 101 as L&R and now i am planning to buy a MissionMX3 tower for music listening.

- Connecting both Bose and Mission parallel we get sound from both the speakers.

- By using the switch, i can ON-Bose & OFF-Mission during movies and OFF-Bose & ON-Mission during music

Denon X-2000 also has a multizone control by which i can connect the Mission speakers to Zone2, but everytime i need to do this setting manually and switch off Zone 1
