Hi,

The sub woofer that came with YHT 196 is just about alright. I have a spare car sub woofer and want to use it with the system.

Can someone tell me how to connect it?

I think the system has a jack for external subwoofer at the back. Can i somehow connect the car subwoofer with it?

Or i will compulsorily require a separate power supply to power up the car sub and connect the normal sub woofer output wires?

Car speakers are usually of 4ohm; some subwoofers are rated at 2 ohm.
Your AVR may not be able to handle it.
It is designed to handle loads of 6 or 8 ohm.
Its safer not to try this.
Get a car amplifier if you want to use it.
You would obviously need a 12v power supply.
You can use your computer's SMPS if it has enough headroom.

Thanks for the reply guys. Me and my dad are now going to use JBL Car amp by giving it 12V DC supply and get the sub woofer powered through the amp. Should work i think
