Greetings Earthlings...!

Has anyone used a direct connection to the TV, ie without a router. My 51E550 does not bring up the browser for me to log in to Beam's http interface.

Here's another little issue which, if resolved, can help me connect. If you guys can shed light on any of the issues, it will be a great help.

--------------------------------------------

I was using an ADSL broadband connection till now. I switched to a Plug N Play cable internet now. It doesn't require any router. I need to enter a user name and password in the ISP's browser interface to connect. Is there anyway I can use the now useless WAG120N as a wireless router?

Did you try connecting the LAN port of the cable modem to router?. If it doesn't work then you can share the internet connection from PC, but it will require the PC to be ON.

You can log into Beam using a PC/Laptop, then pull out the ethernet cable from the PC/Laptop and connect it to TV.

Connect WAG120N using a RJ45 cable to one of the ethernet ports in WAG120N. Configure a static IP, then from router's web configuration page, disable DHCP. That should do it.
