Coopa Media Player

how is this one different from the Asus Oplay mini?

Although I haven't personally tried Asus O! Play but going by the number of satisfied users I got a positive feeling for it. I am yet to hear a bad review of Asus O! Play. But my coopa take a full 3.5 HDD inside it, so thats the advantage I have gone for.

Eagerly awaiting your review.
Have you started a diff. thread?

No I haven't started the thread yet, I will post the link here.

Did you try with optical ot toslink output, it it better than analogue?

Just waiting for the FiiO D3 DAC and the Toslink cable that I have ordered from UK Amazon. My friend will reach Kolkata on Saturday. Can't wait ... :D

I am just trying to understand this, so pardon me for my Qs..
But whats the benefit in the Coopa having that feature when it has no network connectivity? What abt the chipset? maybe thats newer than the asus?

O Mini has Realtek 1055 Chipset but it cannot pass through DTS MA

Coopa Players also has Realtek 1055 Chipset but it can pass through DTS MA. I think this is an added advantage in buying Coopa.

One of my friends bought a smaller version of it from eBay (on my suggestion :( ) few weeks back.

Full HD 1080p RTD 1055 Coopa TV001 Media Player with 1yr warranty + HDMI Cable | eBay

> In one day, it became unusable. When we first connected it, it played fine after detecting the 2 TB external Seagate disk. Played for sometime and we shut it off.
Returned back in the evening and it doesnt recognize the media anymore. Tried different media - hard drive, usb, sd card.

Got in touch with the seller, he was kind enough to replace it and sent a replacement piece.

This one worked for 4 days and dead again. Spoke to seller and this time he tells us to wait till he gets back to us after talking to the manufacturer.

The dealer however was nice enough to hear us and advised us to wait till he gets back on this when we wanted his suggestion on buying a better media player. He also told us that this was the first time this kind of thing has happened - and that too twice.

I am using a Zinwell ZP-500 bought from the same seller almost an year ago and it works like a charm till todate.

The only thing we noticed is that with Coopa, after we used the audio from the digital coaxial cable (to a Philips HTIB set), it crashed. The 2nd piece worked for 4 days and most of the time, we were using analog audio.

Can someone think of a possibility of coaxial cable causing a media player to fail - power spikes, power leakage????

Using Coopa for more than 15 days now. It even didn't show any sign of instability! Finger-crossed though! Very worried after hearing this :(

Zinwell is one of the best HD player available but I didn't get any seller on ebay selling it so looked for other options.

Many are complaining about 1055 model. I am using my 3546H model for 2 months now, no problem what so ever ... really satisfied with the piece.

Is it that people are putting power-off without properly shutting down the player. As this player is like a computer and needs proper shut down. I always stop the media that was playing, return to the main menu and then press the power button from remote. Wait till the standby red light glows and then only put the switch off. :)
