Do AM radio stations still broadcast ? I have an AM radio but it doesnt catch any stations.. Do I need any special AM antenna to get AM stations, if still being broadcasted??

AM stations are broadcast and ur radio should pickup the local stations at least. If its not at all working then there may be a problem with it. Even a low cost am radio will pickup local stations. You may share ur model and age.
Coming to the antenna, is there a provision for external antenna. You can rotate the radio and also try it at different places to check if it works.
