Hi All,
I am looking for a DAC because DAC in onkyo is that much good i think. Please suggest me some good external DAC.

Thanks
Badri

The default DAC on this Onkyo is very good. Suggest you get hold of some DAC and audition it with your receiver. I bet you will like the Onlyo DAC, unless you have a very very expensive and top of the line external DAC.

Dacchip may be great but implentation may be bad ...and add to that corruption of sound due to comple AV circuitry.....

Definitely there are better DACs with dedicated circuits. Toroidal transformer, 192kHz/32bit Burr Brown DAC, Onkyo's vector linear shaping circuitry, PLL jitter-cleaning...man..that needs some beating..

May be DacMagic? or Benchmark DAC? There is one at sale in classifieds

192kHz/32bit Burr Brown DAC on one of Onkyo's top of the line receiver..you think it is not that good

I am pairing my receiver with Monitor Audio RX6. But I am not getting what i expected. I may be wrong somewhere else. My settings may be or my listening.
For music what is the setting i have to do in my onkyo. I dont access to my receiver. I will post what is my receiver setting.

Hope you have done the audyssey calibration. Remember that you need to recalibrate your AVR even when you add or remove furniture in your HT room. Use the stereo mode in the receiver. Generally, it would be better than Dolby, Neo, THX or any other modes for music.

I changed my front to MA RX6. After that i didnt do calibration. Even though i do calibration i use manual equalizer.

OMG..you changed the front but didn't calibrate???
I strongly recommend doing the Audyssey MultiEQ calibration. The technology has advanced so much. The AVR can calibrate based on your room size, acoustics characteristics, distance between speakers, crossover, delays, levels etc..etc..In Pioneer, i can save multiple calibration. I am sure Onkyo should have something similar. Try doing the calibration and then you can do an AB comparison with your manual EQ. I am sure the advanced MultiEQ XT32 in your setup will produce much clearer, natural, balanced music than any manual EQ that you can do.

May be silly. What is AB comparison?

Any updates badrisuper? Did you try the audyssey?

I have to run audyssey again. But the problem with is the audio files. It is not properly converted. I didnt have issue with cds. But with flac files, i able to hear some noise. That disturbed my listening. I used winamp to rip cds. Any other suggestion to do ripping?

For accurate rip use EAC or dBpoweramp. Both will provide rip log.
SQ is excellent via USB playback. Onkyo TX-NR609) speaker setting MUST be set for stereo. I just have issues of Album & Artist not showing on tracks ripped on dBpoweramp. I have posted this elsewhere and hope experts in ID Tags will give me some answers without being condescending.

Hi badrisuper
I am using Onkyo TXNR 3007 and I have very good results for my audio files.
Try using pure audio option for listening music.
