Advance apologies for starting a new thread. But I felt that this required a separate discussion
I was looking to setup a new 5.1 home theater setup. As part of the auditions I listened to Pioneer Andrew Jones and the Dali Zensor 5 (with vokal and Dali 1's as rear bookshelfs ). My usecase is 60% movies and 40% music.
I really loved the Dalis. Now I am confused between various Dali configurations:
1) Dali 5 (front) + vokal + E-12F subwoofer + Dali 1 (rear)
2) Dali 3 (front) + vokal + E-9F subwoofer + Dali 1 (rear)
3) Dali 1 (front) + vokal + E-9F subwoofer + Dali 1 (rear)

My room size is 12 * 12. Could be 12 * 15 at max if I shift it to another room. Are the Dali5 and e-12 an overkill for a room of this size? Will the base be overpowering?

What about the Dali 3s? Are they superior to the 5 for music?

See amroc - the room mode calculator

with an almost cuboid room, sadly you have no worries at all.

You only have room modes and room boom at"all low frequencies, not just the mode frequencies determined by the room's dimensions" Note: Ethan Winer does not write the dimensions of small

For music, the Dali 5 produce nice tuneful bass, but sitting so close to the rear wall, you will have no stereo listening as well. see http://www.hifivision.com/reviews/60184-encore-mdac-usb-dac-hands-experience-2.html#post666935
