Was so close to pulling the trigger on this one, but I then held back.

The price in Alfa, Mumbai is Rs 37,000. That's a difference of 7k, which I think is not a lot considering you get some peace of mind.

Not trying to scare you, but do read up on a number of DOA and HDMI related issues, which can leave you completely in the lurch.

I am a long time Denon user, and would've recommended to let go of the warranty if these new receivers weren't so software and firmware dependent.

Am game for a Denon 1912 or 2312 group buy, if anyone's interested. :licklips:

how much is the 2312 and 3312 costing there ?

You can try negotiating for 30k for the 571 model. I brought mine in Bangalore for 30k around january. It is an awesome receiver both for stereo and 5.1 movies.

Thanks.

hey can u tell where in bangalore nd who is d the dealer and any contact number???

27 K looks a bit on higher side.

Picked up 1612 in Blr last month with B & W for 24.5 K. may be Delhi is cheaper due to lower taxes ?

I am too looking forward to buy denon 2112/2312 avr. I live in faridabad( Delhi for those who dont know faridabad) count me in too for group buy. Do note if ordering from amazon.de dont end up buying used product. As I see 449 is price of new and 379 is price old 1912 at amazon.de

Kind regards,
Priyesh

From amazon used product is dicey but buying a used item you have personally seen heard and tested or know inside out is as good as buying new if one goes about it right.

I wish I had never bought my gear first hand and gotten better used stuff instead sometimes.

these seems to be a good price in mumbai, is he giving bills ?

Yes with bill and warranty. Will be serviced by KEI.

I have auditioned the 2312 extensively, and I think it's a pretty competent receiver.

I was pretty convinced about its audio, since I have heard it with Paradigm, Dali and Martin Logans as well, so concentrated mostly on its video upscaling capabilities.

I tried upscaling 720p to 1080p, 1080i to 1080p, and 576p to 1080p. I was mostly interested in 1080i to 1080p, and 720p to 1080p, because that is the bulk of the ordinary content flying around.

Results, are somewhat satisfactory. I tried hard to catch and artifact or two, but couldn't. I also went really up close to catch some ringing and other nonsense, but couldn't spot it. There was some jitteriness though, which I thought was odd. Overall, I'd say the Anchor Bay upscaling chip isn't all that bad.

Whether it is enough to warrant a jump of Rs 20,000 over the 1912 is something I'm not entirely convinced about. Although, I quite like the additional wattage, and prefer a front-facing HDMI as well. Minor feature differences, but sometimes worth it in the longer run maybe.

I'm upgrading from my trusty old 1905, which has done duty now for close to 8 years. So I don't intend upgrading for at least another 8 years or so.

well, if you have a latest good LED TV then leave the upscaling to the TV, anyways the TV does that internally, and 1080i to 1080p will be no visible difference, AVR is best when it passes unprocessed Video, for Audio yes lot needs to happen from AVR

set the source (ur bluray player, media player etc) to HDMI auto and let TV do the scaling, its best, read a lot of review on Onkyo avrs and some denon too that they screw up the video while upscaling. so let then pass the video untouched and only process the audio which is their prime job.

if you just looking to get 2312 for upscaling and spend that extra 20k, well to my opinion, its not worth, but yeah if you are looking for its wattage and connection options then go for it, its very good AVR
