Denon 1912 Vs Onkyo TX-NR-609

Hi Hifians,

Iam confused between Denon and the Onkyo.
I was reading the comparision between them in this month's AV max, where he considered Onkyo as best buy. it says this is future ready.
Iam not very keen on Air play, as dont use Apple products.
Will Onkyo suit with Wharfedale speaker set up.
Please help me with this.

Onkyo will be better choice with better power output.Wharfedale may sound dull with Onkyo.Video scaling chip on 609 is much powerfull with support upto 4k.

I had the opportunity to audition 3 different brands of receivers sometimes back in May-June at a local dealer in Bangkok:

Receivers: Onkyo TX-NR609, Yamaha RX-V1067 and Denon 1911.
Speakers: Wharfedale Diamond tower 10.5, centre 10CS and surrounds 10.1
Movie: Transformers (2007)
Concert: Celine Dion - A New Day Live in Las Vegas

The audition was done without the Audyssey set-up since the demo units were brand new. I finally settled in for Onkyo.

These guys get paid to write reviews. Therefore, it is better to audition what you want to buy. Leave the rest to your own ears and instincts for the final decision.
