HI all

I am building myself a cab along these lines

I have a couple of finished wood panels lying around from previous builds
and since im building one
i thought ill use up all the raw material i have lying around

by my calculations i will be able to build 5 cabs
(out of which one is mine )

the cab is all aluminium with 19mm wood sides
Maple wood
polished and melamined

top and rear panel 3mm
front panel 6mm
Base 4mm
ALl aluminium

Size
17" (W ) 11"(d) 90mm (h )

Color
Anodized BLack

In My PERSONAL cab
the top and front panels will be held by neoderm rare earth magnets
so that i can easily open up the amp for DIY
plus i dont want to see the ugly screw heads on the front panel ( as in the case of the pics above
(if anyone else wants this please let me know)

if anyone is interested please update thread and me

the cab is all aluminium
front panel 6mm aluminium

Magnets do not attract aluminium. You will need to use magnetic stainless steel (400 series) or regular mild steel which may be power coated to prolong life.

umm....
i think i would know that

how that magnets will attract the panels will be tackled my way
i will not use steel
i will use aluminium

A close friend of mine was asking around for a budget cabinet, please inform me how much will this set him back by?

hi saheb
when i build for myslef i dont really have a price point
Though i believe i have some idea
Please PM

if he wants a budget cab
the sheet metal steel cabs should do well for him , i believe
Since they are 1-1.5 mm sheet MS and are bent to form the sides and then easily powder coated
their pricing will be very differnt from an aluminium cab whose each panel needs to be seperately machined

I wish there were computer cabinets with this "grip and rip" option. It would make messing with your computer so much easy!
