Does power cable matter ?

Shielded power cable will make a difference. Whether you will like that or not is a different thing. Shielded power cable will reduce convolution between powerline EMI induced harmonics in analouge cables (both interconnect and speaker wire) and similarly help reducing jitter recovery timing for digital interconnects. Although, radiated emi effects on a digital interconnect is dramatically low compared to analogue cables.

Here’s some information that i came across:

Generic hints with respect to cable parameters in relation to their effect on the sound

-More copper = fuller sound (subjectively fatter bass) but also less articulate
-Less copper = tighter sound (subjectively more control) but also less colourful
-Finer stranding = smoother, more refined treble, less good for bass control and transient sharpness
-Thicker stranding = more solid bass and more drive, but also drier treble
-Solid core = better for bass (solid, controlled, fast), less good for treble

-A given amount of conductors divided in individually insulated groups = more articulate but also drier
-Same amount of conductors put together in the same insulator = less articulate, but richer, creamier sound

I have listened to Asi Liveline power cable regular and reference, it makes a huge difference.
