Hi

Can anyone tell me where do I get dts audio songs English/Hindi. As it is we hardly find DTS video movies. Of lately I had come across DTS movies such as X-men 1 and 2, Flight of the Phoenix, and the Day after tomorrow in Irla (near Alpha). The sound quality is not that great except of X-men 1. I expected the 2nd part to be much of a better quality, but no, it was as good as dolby digital. And yes they were original dvd's from EXEL (an Indian recording co.)

As for the DTS audio, the sales people at the malls draw a blank, as if I was talking an alien language. They simply didn't knew what I meant.

Pl let me know if there are any DTS audio cd's or atleast DVD audio cd's present in the Mumbai market.

Regards

Hi Jayant,

I share your disappointment in terms of DTS availability. My opinion is that the companies may have to pay royalty to DTS for including DTS soundtrack in their DVD's, hence it is not a standard feature, unlike Dolby Digital. Secondly, the awareness of DTS as a superior soundtrack is very limited in the Indian context. In my family, anyone who has a HT has bought it only to experience surround sound, and not DTS in particular, so it doesn't matter to them.

I doubt whether DTS CD's are actually available anywhere in the market here. If you find any, please let us all know too. Rhythm House at Kala Ghoda is the only store where I found some SACD's, no DVD-A though, and they were mostly classical ones.

Finally, if everything fails, the Net should be your best bet.

Happy Hunting !!

Hi,

Some of the malayalam movies do have DTS sound tracks! You may try these if you're familiar with the language.

Nitin.

which are those movies and from where can i get it?

Sajith,I believe i have shared the following technique which allows you experience all the latest movies in DTS,provided you have a unlimited broadband connection.
I have a hefty collection of Bluray rips(MKV)which has DTS tracks at 1.5 MBPS.I then convert the MKVs to DVD format using ConvertXto DVD software while retaining the DTS format. I then enjoy all these movies in my HT,since i dont have a WDTV or a XTREAMER yet.
Since most of the retail movies available in the market does not have DTS track, the above method is pretty effective for me. For instance,if you are a watcher of Tamil movies, almost all the movies from Ayngaran international have DTS tracks.

First confirm with your player manual whether it can play SACD, DVD-Audio as only specialised players only play these. Also these SACD, DVD-Audio disc are very costly if you player does not support these disc will be waste of money.

There are dozen disc in dts audio format available in Tamil, these disc are available in big music stores in Tamil nadu. If you want these I can give the list of titles.

These discs will play only in DVD players with dts decoders inbuilt or there through optical / digital out.

Hi cmsajith,

Lollipop is one of them, Veruthe Oru Bharya is another. I'm yet to see Sagar Alias Jacky and 20-20.

The easiest way would be moserbaer, but many are not available in this site, so you'd have to try your luck in music stores for these DVD movies.

Else you'd have to wait for someone to bring them from Kerala for you.

Thanks,

Nitin.

Nitin, Your question sounds trivial coz,
MKV is only a container which holds the high def video and audio streams(multiple) with multiple subtitles. Most of the MKV which you download through torrents only come with DTS and some with both DD and DTS and some, only DD.
