can i have some suggestions on good quality easy drive bookshelves?

i recently acquired an old musical fidelity b1 amp and running it with a pair of sonus faber concertinos, you can really feel the amp struggle.

but it sounds great with a pair of b&w lm1 s i have. the punch, detail, musicality is amazing.

so want to get a pair of quality bookshelves ($500 - $1000 range) which will go well with the b1. and if the speakers you suggest are available in india appreciate if it could be specified as such and the msrp for it (if known).

and is the 'easy drive' factor in a speaker normally judged by the 'sensitivity' specification of the speaker?

appreciate the insights.

dump the amp
get a better amp
the speakers are better than the amp you use

Ohm and sensitivity is used as parameters of ability to drive a speaker yes.

no, this is for a totally different room and different setup.

and especially after sonus faber, i atleast want one set of speakers to be totally easy to drive for any amp.

so a speaker with 91db sensitivity and 8 ohms can be considered as 'easy drive'?

how about 90db and 4 ohms? or is such configuration not possible? just trying to understand.

btw my sonus faber concertos at the back says 8 ohms. but the concertinos say 6 ohms. so is the latter considered more difficult to drive?

appreciate the insights.

thanks.

The ohm is a measure of impedance or resistance.
The sensitivity is a measure how efficient the drivers are.

The concertino is 86db @ 6ohms
The concerto is 87dB @ 8ohms

Both are relatively hard to drive, the concertino is marginally harder to drive.

every 3 db in sensitivity is a doubling of output and lower requirement of pushing the amp.

The only very easy to drive high quality bookshelves i can think of are ZU omen @ 98dB and essence @ 97db full rangers, they can be driven off lyrita audio's SET 2a3 3watt amp easily.
