Hi:

Anybody have EMOTIVA AIRMOTIVE 4 or 5 speakers ? are they better than Audioengine A2 or SWAN M200 ?

Has anybody ordered any product from EMOTIVA ? How much duty/taxes above the quoted figure does one have to pay ?

Sanky,

I have seen few threads in forum, where our FM had brought Emotiva Amps and haven't came across anything on Speakers.

Also the Emotiva Speakers are not quite impressive for it money, i believe.SWANS should win the league for its performance,Style look ,cost and available with warrenty)with no competition IMHO:)

Lets see, what does others say

I auditioned a bunch of active monitors in this price range. I chose Equator D5.

Audio freek, Have you auditioned the Swan monitors? How do they sound?

I bought Audioengine A 2 (some 4 years ago) and Swan M200 MKII (5 years)/D1080MKII (2 years). I sold off AE within a month (not that they sound bad but they can't compete with Swans in midrange and vocals). No match at all. A2s distort sound at moderate levels and are only suitable for small places.

Swans are more suited to my musical tastes and preferences. Also their build quality is superb with classy finish. M200 are about 12 kgs while 1080 about 9 kgs.

Swans are still with me. I am using M200 in my office and D1080 in my bedroom. I have not sold them despite tempting offers from many forum members.

I am not sure whether the Indian distributor of Swan sells these 2 models here. But I saw it at another forum that someone (based in Gwalior) was planning to sell these in the Indian markets. Don't have details but you could check on the net.

Hi would you say that Swans D1080 and/or M200 are better than Bose Companion 5 and maybe Audioengine A5+

PS: This is just for sharing and have no connection to dealer in any capacity.

Recently got to know that Emotiva now have an authorized distributor for India. They are based in Delhi. Here is the website where you can check if speakers you are interested are available for demo.

Home | Acoustic Arts

Unlike emotive website, they do not quote product prices on the website. I had sent an email to emotive US for an international quote for XPA-7 Gen 3 (1899$) base price and was asked to contact local distributor. They quoted 1.8 lakh (including taxes and 5 year warranty). On the comparison aspect I found it reasonable considering shipping, taxes and dealer margins factored into it. INR price was working out more by around 790$ above the base price of 1899$on account of above aspects.

HT sotre Bangalore also has quoted the same but I am not sure whether they are authorized dealers or not. Emotiva confirmed by email that they have signed an exclusive agreement with acoustic-arts for products and services including warranty aspects.

Also, this helps to audition before buying as against blind buy earlier.

Thanks & regards,

Amit

Emotiva speakers can also be directly ordered from their US website. They have tied up with a freight forwarder for international shipments. They will handle custom clearance for us.

Currently, Emotiva is running a 15% discount for Labor day weekend. Ordering from US might work out cheaper.

Thanks. Do you have any emotiva amp and feedback on the sound signature of the same as I am looking at TA-100 to get it in USA and bringing thru relative.

Do they offer indian warranty thru their dealer i.e. Acoustic Arts Delhi?

I have no personal experience with Emotiva. I have read good things about their products. Other FMs have bought Emotiva audio processors, power amps, etc before and are in general quite happy.
