Hi guys,

I'm planning to purchase speakers for my stereo setup while returning from U.S. I currently have 2 options, Quad 12l2(used)/ Energy rc-10. Both of these are quoted around 400$. This new pair will be replacing Boston acoustics A26. I have no complaints over A26 but I'm in the urge of upgrading since I have travelled U.S :-). Now, do you think that this upgrade will be worth it or will this just be a lateral upgrade. Can you please shed your light on this?

Also, please let me know if you have anyother suggestions. My musical preference would be warm, detailed, non fatigue sound with tight bass.

Did you mean quad 12l2?
Because 22l2 are floorstanders.
Energy RC -10 is much cheaper- if available; cannot be $400.
And they are discontinued long back.
In any case quad is far ahead.

audiogon has some good deals going..

try totem rainmakers for example.... about $600 odd and if you scroll, contact and negotiate.. you could end up with something nice.

Hi guys,

Thanks all for your recommendations and sorry for the delayed response. I have finally purchased Dynaudio Audience 42. I spent 300$ for getting it. I have heard these speakers at decibels and liked it very much. I have paired it with Luxman amp sourced with MF VDACII. When I played them first time at my place I was awestruck by the natural yet detailed and balanced sound. The cosmetic condition of these speakers was not that great but still I feel that it yielded great VFM. I was also amazed to see how well Luxman drive these speakers with ease. Overall, I'm very very satisfied with my purchase.

Excellent. You are on to a different league. Luxman is a champ and a true hiend audio equipment manufacturer. You may want to listen to other different DAC than VDAC II sometime sooner or later?

Thanks Koushik. My preference is Warm, detailed sound with tight bass. Do you have any "DAC" recommendation for me? I was planning to go for Musical Fidelity M1-DAC/MHDT Havana but dropped the idea. I may consider an upgrade later sometime because I'm already pleased with my current setup :ohyeah:
