I dont believe TS can accommodate it without further compressing HD channels to make them look more closer to SD, unless ofcourse get share TP with D2H and move HD channels there.

Noob question: What is TP? I don't understand what you mean by your post. Can you please explain in simpler terms?

TP means Transponder. In lay man terms, its the bandwidth available in the satellite through which the channels can be broadcasted. Being HD, it takes lot of bandwidth (Approximately equals to 4 Standard Channel's space).

Unless Tatasky comes up with a deal, we can get either Star Cricket HD or ESPN HD as the space would be available for only one HD after the removal of Ten Cricket HD from July 10.

TataSky's TP is already saturated. They have 28.5MHz bandwidth available and is taken up by {Discovery, NGC, Star Plus, Star Gold, Star Movies, Star World, Ten} HD. That's approximately 4.1MHz per channel with H.264. Most DTH vendors allocate to SD a bandwidth as low as 800MHz with H.264 (higher compression format by Airtel, Videocon, Reliance) and about 1.8MHz with Mpeg2 (lower compression format by DishTV and Tata Sky).

Dont give wrong info. These channels are not launched yet and d2h is giving them. They have not given a single sporting event in HD till date.
