i m sure that Tata Sky will be the first DTH compnay to air these HD channels as these channels are from STAR group(hope i m right),
there will be some techincal glitiches in it regrading bandwidth and all buti know TS will overcome that too

There is information about other operators and satellites as well.
Only Star Cricket HD coming to TS HD platform! For ESPN HD, you need to move to another DTH as there is no way TS can add another HD channel for now without significantly compromising quality.

You wouldn't believe - D2H! They will have max number of HD channels in India on 19th! Total 12 HD channels.
TS is not going to beam ESPN HD only Star Cricket HD. I had such high hopes of watching ESPN HD.
It is like airtel not connecting to bsnl/tata indicom, well some regulatory authority is sorely needed for the DTH area where each operator runs his firm as per his whims/fancies. Now I as a customer should not have to worry about who has what transponder space etc. I want a clean picture and good sound. There should be a threshold for the compression each can do and ensure the same quality at the customer premises like broadband where they deliver on the speed part.
Already sent a request to activate ESPN HD through their website. I think I will write a letter/give some feedback to TRAI on the above matters. Would request some help from more knowledgeable members on drafting the letter

So it looks like D2h has already added ESPN HD and Star Sports HD on ch. nos. 921 and 922

I can help drafting the letter. I will send one email to couple of addresses I have (I never got replies to 2 emails I wrote in regards to Dish TV, however Dish TV ran after me to give compensation and get away). So writing to them might work even if they don't reply (they might have a nexus due to which they keep mum on these issues, but might be pushing the operators internally so these issues can be suppressed).As of now, I suggest you push them to add more TPs than adding more channels. Through additional compression they might be able to add more, but then we will struggle more in terms of quality.
In comparison, Airtel seems to be airing 4 HD channels on a TP with similar capacity (SR/MHz) while TS is already airing 7 HD channels with 5.1 sound! So its apparent that TS is doing almost twice the compressing (atleast in terms of peak bitrates which is apparent in complex scenes needing less compression to avoid pixellation artifacts).
415 is Ten Cricket (normal SD). So the news is incorrect.
ok, even i saw the ad on news paper.. so did anyone of u check out on tv ,if the channel is coming or not?

If you see at the bottom of the advertisement, TataSky only gets Star Cricket HD whereas D2h gets both ESPN HD and Star Cricket HD

StarCricket HD has been added on tatasky on the channel no. is 414.
