I am building TL speakers. Hav following Q:

1. Does the position of driver (Woofer above OR Tweeter above) makes any difference?

2. Which material is good for damping. What are pros and cons between polyfiber, foam/spounge, glass fiber, thick cloth like turkytowel etc?

3. Any branded crossover availble?

Thanks

I tried a TL prototype build and I am extremely happy with the performance.
My build was just for experimental/hobby purpose and used just a 2 Inch fullrange driver and a 2 Inch subwoofer, all running without any Xovers. The sound quality is very good and I ended up using the speakers for my background music listening usage.

You can check out the speakers in action in the following YouTube video -

I would say, rather than going for a two way design, go for a fullrange design using drivers from Fostex or Audio Nirvana. You will surely be surprised by the outcome.

Hi Vivek,

Have you heard audio nirvana drivers with Wyatt cabinets.

I am contemplating a Semi DIY with the above mentioned.
But have found the cabinets to be a simple box with a bass tube fitted in the front ported design. There are no baffles .

Please advice.

David of audio Nirvana insisted that bigger the enclosure better the sound and bass extension.
There is one more thing I learnt from him. Most music recordings are recorded at lowest 40hz and the enclosure design extend it to say sub 30 hz. Not so convinced. What is your opinion.
Thanks-

Sudhir not hijacking your thread but felt relevant to mention .
