Fighting the upgrade bug!

no point here

its only -
i dont belive that
if you have a better system it translates into more hours of listening

thats why i said
figure out how much music you listen to , and how critically
this will allow you to fight off or yield to the upgrade bug

sorry i dont subscribe to this
i know a couple clients who listen to music with PC speakers and a phillips 2 in 1
Im 100% sure they have listening capabilities and knowledge about music far more than clients who own full blown systems
they definetely listen to a whole lot of music too

Only problem is that they listen to music where as we listen to our amps & speakers :)

I am presently fighting it telling myself anything I get now will be useless if I have to move away for masters!

I was in the same state few months back. I am planning for my MBA in US but this is what I did.

1) Make a plan -> what do u want once u settle down. I want a home theatre + stereo set up. So list down all components.
2) what are the small portable ones. For me here are, iPad, stereo amp, bookshelves ( may be), squeezebox etc which your ready to carry and can also use during your univ days. Buy only these.
3) upgrade only those you can carry around easily. Have a temporary set up with the rest.
4) most important, keep listening to music, keep your self occupied.

For some morale boosting, things other than audio gear that I HAVE to carry with me at any cost are my guitar, amp, processor, Xbox, 2 Rc cars, 2 Rc helis, 1 Rc plane, 1 tool box, Lappy. Please don't ask me how I plan to shift all that. :p

PS: NOW is the right time to enjoy life. :ohyeah:

I wish to share that the hobby of music or if you like, the addication of music is far more better than any other vices like Alcohol, girls etc.. "Music has the power to heal and satisy the soul".:o

I say this from my personal experience. I'm sure there may be others who may relate.
