Hi All,

Finally placed the order for 2 x Sonodyne Avant LCR 250 in Hifimart... :yahoo: This will be used as Left & right speakers which will replace the Mission M35i FS that my brother had...

This will be hooked up with NAD C326BEE (which is up for sale) & Sonodyne Studio Monitor subwoofer SLF 200Ai series for the time being.....

Once the NAD is sold off, thinking of an AVR.... Have owned Onkyo, Marantz AVR in the past.... Planning to have a try with Yamaha/Denon this time and also slowly building the HT with Sonodyne Avant range...

Center speaker will be Avant LCR 250 again, Surrounds will be Avant 150.

The Avant range of speakers (LCR 250 and Avant 150) have satellite speaker response (100 Hz - 20Khz) & 90db efficient...

I think an entry level amplifier from Yamaha/Denon should do i believe.....
Budget around 25K....

I know AVR in india cost a bomb compared to international price....If it is too expensive here, i wouldn't hesitate to get it from Kuwait/Dubai....

Kindly suggest some AVR from Yamaha/Denon for 25K.

Congrats on your purchase.......how much these cost you???
about AVR Yamaha 373 or Denon 1513 fits into your budget....And if u want something at higher end then u should get it from abroad.

Avant LCR 250 cost 29K per pair after 10% discount in HFM....

Am not really looking for a high end AVR for my brother... Juz 5 HDMI ports, an HDMI with ARC function... His usage is listening to music (Digital files), movies (High Quality Blu ray rips) from WD TV Live media player & watching Videocon HD STB.....

He owns a NAD CD player C541 as well... Thought he might buy any other gadget (or) connect PC to it....

My last check in Xcite.com website in Kuwait, found Onkyo TX NR 616 for 26K.... Really a sweet deal... But am not able to find Yamaha/Denon AVR in that site...

Have already checked the sharafdg..Nothing much there...

Congrats on your new purchase.

This Avant 250 - Sonodyne Avant LCR 250 Loudspeaker is put under both 'bookshelf' and 'center channel' section in hifimart. So can this speakers be used for as both centre and fronts?

And Avant 150 is priced at around 20K, approx 4K more than lcr 250. So are these lcr 150 better speakers than lcr 250?

Recently, I also purchased my sonodyne centre from hifimart and had an excellent experience. I placed my order on Sunday 1 AM (yes AM) and got it delivered by Monday 3 PM. Superfast service but most probably due to the fact that both Sonodyne warehouse and I are located within a distance of 3-4 kms. :P

Thanx buddy... Yes the Avant LCR 250 can be used as both front speaker, center speaker and if affordable as surround speaker also....

I have heard Avant 150 & LCR 250 @ different places & different times... Not together...

Avant LCR 250 is a bigger speaker of Avant 150.. Meaning 2 drivers for Midrange.. So obviosuly they will sound better....

I had a strong feeling that Avant LCR 250 was a Fantastic speaker for around 15K & hence the suggestion, purchase for my brother...

You are probably the only person who can have that kind of TAT :ohyeah: Since your distance is negligible.....

Me to had a nice experience with HFM, when i ordered a Sonus 1501 BS for my friend in chennai.. He received it in FLAT 3 days.. I think the shipment should have come from Bangalore warehouse....Really good service from HFM.... Kudos to them...:clapping:

I juz saw they have included Pioneer AVR's... They are getting bigger & bigger year by year... Good Job & Congrats HFM

Try to add Yamaha & Onkyo AVR also to your list.. So that it becomes a one stop point for all of us to choose...

But if LCR 250 is a better speaker both in terms of technology and sound wise, then why the LCR 150 is costlier (by 4K) than LCR 250? Just want to know.

Apart from the superfast deliver, though it was mostly because we were just few kms apart, what I liked most about Hifimart is the 10% discount which the Sonodyne showroom has failed to give me. Hence, I will demo there and buy from Hifimart. :clapping:

Ok. Avant 150 price of 20K is per pair... But Avant LCR 250 price of 15K is per piece

Yup....:ohyeah:

How are Pioneer AVR's ? I have no clue of how they are.... Any owners of Pioneer AVR in this forum ? Please share your feedback too..

Received the speakers today.... They sound very impressive right out of the box... :clapping:

Will write a detailed review with pics of the setup once the break-in is complete......

Congrats for your new purchase. :)

Thanx buddy... They came in the usual boxes with styro-foams inside, but the speaker was wrapped with a silk type cloth :) may be to impart a premium feel
to the user i guess... that was a nice touch..

Fit & finish was top class

My centre came in exactly same packing... I think (as I wasn't home when they delivered it) these speakers are delivered by sonodyne guys and not by any courier.

By the way, do you have sonodyne warehouse in your city?

Oh nice to hear that... I picked it from the courier guys as they refused to deliver it to my place (Village).... This happens which we have gotten used to..

Sonodyne doesn't have a warehouse in chennai.. I think they have warehouse in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi & ofcourse Kolkatta..

My shipment came from Kolkatta.
