First DIY project

@Koushik, I cant anymore(being a student is difficult and having a family who doesn't have any taste in music is troublesome too, such is the case with me). Maybe we can met up sometime and you can help me and guide me in this build. If you are okay with it then please pm me your number.

@bijinmb , thanks for pointing these out.

For a two way tower type which drivers will be suited most?

Help me out Koushik and bijinmb.

Since you are very keen on sticking to the budget.

You may consider this configuration and I am sure this won't disappoint you.

Tweeter:

SR10DT ( Peerless - 25mm Fabric Dome Tweeter - SR10DT )

Woofer:

SKO130 ( Peerless - 5.25" High fidelity 8 Ohm woofer - SKO130 )

Thanks,
Bijin.

Bijin,

I was planning to Pm you, but this may be faster.

Saw this on your site.

Peerless - 2" Neodymium Dome Mid Range - DM50AN

Now I know that Peerless India makes the Dayton RS52AN midrange. a potentially troublesome midrange to work with, but delivers outstandingly well with the right crossover, since it has such low distortion in the passband.. this looks like a "generic" version of that. could you confirm this? can I get a CSD /HD chart for this as well?

also is this available in ready stock?

Hello Kapvin,

DM50AN is kinda having almost same property as of RS52AN - daytone. But I haven't compared its end to end T/S param with daytone.

DM50AN cross over smoothly at 600hz - 6KHz. Of-course building a right crossover for them is a bit painful task, but those drivers perform really good on its role.

Yes, it's in stock.

Thanks,
Bijin.

Hi Bijin,

thanks. I have the T/s specs of the Rs52 (and I have several of them in stock). this one seems more amenable at the lower end (lower fs; lower qts). am interested in harmonic distortion charts and the Cumalative spectral decay charts of the DM50, simply to see if it has the same metal break at 11khz that the dayton has. on the dayton, that means steep x-over slopes; notch filters, or both.

Is there any place that i can get pre-made speaker enclosure's from?
Someplace online(not ebay)?
Or locally here in kolkata?

They need to be vfm, as buying a whole mdf sheets and going through the carpenter route is too much of a deal.

I need a enclosure for a sub which is 8" in size TL parameters are unknown!

Ready made cabinets are available in chandni, but it is unlikely that you will be satisfied with the result. LM3886 pcb is available in eBay. Bare pcb, with some or all components, many options. Completely assembled boards are available in diyaudiokart

Has anyone dealt with Corrson in the recent past? My attempts about two years ago came to naught. I had dealt with them when they started out, and that was a happy experience, but about two years ago, I got the impression that they are in stock clearance mode and are not interested in the components and drivers business any more.

It would be great to hear from someone that I was wrong, and Corrson is still keen to offer drivers etc.
