Check out Focal Chorus

836 - 300 Watts 3-Way, Cost 1.35K
826 - 250Watts 3-way Cost 1.15K

These are good speakers with tight bass without losing mids

Tannoy Revolution signature DC6T (175 Watts @ 8 ohms), price not sure but is in the range I think.

There are others as well, pick up AVMAx Jan 2012 issue and you will have plenty of choices...

Thanks & Regards,

Amit

Also consider B&W CM7/8, Monitor Audio's RX8, KEF's Q900, Dali's Ikon 7 and PSB's Imagine Tower.

If you can strech your budget a bit the Dynaudio''s Excite/DM series, MA's Gold 200/300 and Dali's Mentor 5/6/8 are very nice too.

i rate the monitor audio rx6 very highly and though below your budget it would compete with speakers of a higher price. the usher be-718 @ about 1.20 lakhs is also a very good buy though not floorstanders

That is why I recomended the RX8. The 836 is a good speaker and I'd say it was a 2 horse race between 2 very musical machines (RX8 and 836) but the Q900, CM7/8 or Ikon 7 etc might suit your taste too.

Support your view MA Rx6s are good. Bought them recently

If I ever decide to upgrade which should hopefully be in long future the MA RX6 is what I would go in for :)
How much did the cost you if I might ask?

Are you going to get an amp after getting speakers or do you have an amp in place? advice will vary depending on that information.

Have you tried listening to Vienna acoustics Bach Grand or Mozart Grand? They are perfect for music and pack a tight bass.

Try Listening to the AAD Silver REF 7 @ bass n treble . Good value for money speakers herd them very recently .

What about the Wharfdale's Jade series or the Martin Logan Electromotion ESL. Are not these in this price range?

the rx8 can be a little boomy at times with the bass not as tight as the rx6. in most cases the rx6 is preferred over the rx8

Guys there is a company called Aurum Cantus and they make floor standers called Music Goddess. Though i did not listen to them but there must be something extremely good about them because people are comparing with speakers in the range of $10,000 ..... Maybe it could help you in your decision

Is there a Tannoy coax in this price range?

Aurum Cantus's G1 based speakers - I think they are the Harmony and Volla and some center channel I cant remember - are very good. But they need power to shine, a AVR might not be enough. Jim Griffin used their G2Si with the JX92 in a nice 2 way.

thanks for your suggestions, can you guys please tell me the price of these
Dali's Ikon 7
KEF's Q900,
Paradigm Studio 100

and another thing , i am thinking to buy Paradigm studio 100 for 1400$ , from Audigon
through Aramex shop and ship. It will be safe to buy online or should buy locally?

If you are looking at speakers from US, consider boutique brands like Salk SongTowers and Ascend. You will get much better sound for similar price. I know one member here bought the Salks and got them shipped here, and turned out fine. You may see some of my older posts for more info about the Salks - I have owned the SongTowers in the past and later moved to HT2-TL.

Surprising there is no utter in HiFi Forum about the new KEF R Series, while all out here in UK have unbelievable high praises for these speakers, though their price is in the league of the XQ series their performance is compared to the Blade series

As in a review another forum member has quoted "This is real quality at a relatively affordable price, and from what I've heard so far, some of the models set a new benchmark at their price point. The good thing about this range too, is that they won't need a truck load of amplification to drive them either..."
