Yesterday i compared Dali Zensar 7 and Focal 714 Floorstanders at DNI. What i found is Focal 714 did a better job than Zensar 7 in Midrange and High range frequencies. I might be wrong in judging but I felt Focal 714 was way better than Zensar 7.

Pioneer AVR was used to audition, forgot to take a note of AVR model number.

Is there any one who felt the same?

try to check with amp,it can give better result. but its subjective. may be some other amp can give better result with dali than focal..

focal are good at vocal and mid range...

The Focal 714V is one of the best in the Focal Range, so no wonder you liked it.
Anyway, it is all down to personal pref, so if you liked the Focal, then go for it. Do not go by hearsay, go by what your own ears like.

:)

Hi

The Focals are good and well spoken by many...if it appeals to you, go for it....a lot of high end speakers pair well with Marantz, NADs, Cambridge Audio, based on your requirements / connectivity / features, choose the AVR wisely if not done yet.....

Thanks for amazing responses, one of the problems with being a beginner is you tend to rely to advices more rather than ears :)

have an entry level AVR that is Yamaha RXV 475, planning to take it down to shop and than listen to it.

Agree with all the comments above.
Focal is a very well known French speaker company and their products are no doubt good
Dalis cannot be better than all other speaker brands out there :)

I'd recommend that you have a long listening session (30-60 min) with your own AVR before you pull the trigger. Sometimes certain speaker-amp combinations are not comfortable for longer sessions. And that discomfort can vary from person to person. Like I developed a mild headache after listening to Polks for a while. Did not happen with any other speaker

Good suggestion, i will try a long session before making a final call.

Also just an FYI I checked with DNI and he demoed Focal with Pioneer VSX-923-K. Not sure how Pioneer model can be compared with RXV 475.

Hi

The 923 is an AVR with a lot of power output to throw....dunno if the quality would be consistent....it will be wise to check with the AVR you would be hooking the speakers to....

As per my understanding, the higher models of Pioneer especially the LX series is quite good.....

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
