hi friends ,

i am looking for floor standing speakers and shortlisted the titled speakers..

focal 826vw or 816vw
b&w 684
tannoy revolution DC6t se
b&w cm9

among those which one will be best for both music and movies..

i dont want harsh sounds..

any opinions?

my room size will be 16*17 ft..

planning to use it with integra pre/power combo for multichannel and marantz pm6004 for stereo.

A 6004 would struggle to drive these big 'uns. Consider bookshelves from the same series or a beefier stereo amplifier.

IMO, 6004 will not do the speakers justice and not drive them to their potential. I would suggest splitting the total budget between speakers and amp on equal terms. On speakers front, I would suggest you also look at MA RX6 in the similar price range.

6004 will not drive any of the speakers you mentioned.
There is a 8003 on sale in the forum for the same price. Better sound and power. Try that.

The B&Ws are definitely to be considered from the list...better sounding for music and movies.....depending on your budget and spacing...you can decide between the 684 or CM9.

You should look at using a Marantz AVR or amp as the company has been in existence over 50 years and have focused on delivering MUSIC depth and warmth in the products as PRIORITY ONE! I am a happy Marantz user.
