Fostex BK12m speakers....finally done!

@soundnovice-beautiful looking speakers and bet they sound more beautiful:-P hmmm no offence but is it possible to build one for an non diy guy!i.e Me:-D pleasee

@soundnovice - very beautiful looking speaker and it must be very good for hindustani classical musics. I have an idea of fostex speakers sound (I listened Lyrita Harmony many times), they sound fatigue free and wholsome, specially for hindustani clasical and Jazz music. Congrats.

yes, very true. its hard to believe that 4.5" drivers can fill up a room with volume knob on T-amp (25W) turned to hardly 9 o'clk position. although bass is only upto 60hz and not thumpy, its 'there'!
lows decay so fast, i could clearly hear the 'non-overlapping' tabla beats.

hehe ... my darling T-amp (2020, is it?) ... no wonder. Fostex is one of the best matches with it. Separation and soundstage would be par excellent ... with no complaints on volume here, due to very high sensitivity.

yea. its Topping TP20-MARK2 amp. at 93dB sensitivity, i guess speakers are utilizing not more than 2W at around 1.5m listening distance.

How on earth did you manage to explain the schematic to your carpenter?!
never gave him the complete drawings! :D
asked him to just cut the individual blocks. closely monitored while cutting angled pieces. later asked him to nail the wood blocks as per my instructions. moral learned is 'never let the carpenter use his brain!'

Very nicey done, just two questions. What are the differences between this 12x driver and the 16x series apart from 4.5 " and 6.5" driver size and what made you choose this one over that.

do u means diff. between fe12xEn series and fe16xEn series drivers? fe16xEn series are bigger 6.5" drivers. they have low Fs. considering the application, space and budget i decided to go for 4.5" drivers. if i build something like this for myself, then i would go for 6.5" or even 8" (fe206En) driver which can go down to 40hz in good TL design.

Lovely.. soundnovice.. Very nice.

How come guys in bangalore and delhi get all time to do these ?

Mpw

Because they do not stay in Mumbai. It is a fact I realised once I left Mumbai for Gurgaon post my 12 years stay there. Life goes little bit more mechanical way in Mumbai, plus time that I used to spent in local trains.
