Snce yesterday a high piched sound was bugging me but didn't pay much attention to it. Today I started to wonder what was going on and it was a defective tweeter on my speakers.. so I turned it off

and realized something....it wasn't the tweeter.

IT WAS ME! I WAS HEARING THE CONSTANT HIGH NOTE!

I'm in the midst of overcoming the common cold haha.

Just makes one realize and appreciate how delicate and precious ones senses of sight sound hearing and touch and taste are. These small things all working together determines everything we perceive in life.

All audiophiles must compulsorily regularly get their ears cleaned by an ENT specialist. If you dont do it you cant claim to be an audiophile. Cricket umpires are supposed to do so.

No point making lofty claims to have golden ears if they are filled with too much wax. Imagine an audiophile, who in the midst of a critical listening session, takes out an ear bud and keeps digging his ears. Horrible to contemplate.

On the other hand, it wont surprise me if there are audiophile grade ear digging buds available in the market. I dont know if audiophile buds have been discussed on this forum. I would consider a forum where such an arcane topic has been discussed to be a true group of fanatics.

Also, I would strongly recommend finding out on audiophile grade ear drops. In fact it is a surprise that no respected audio company makes audiophile grade ear drops.

As a matter of fact, all of us should instruct our ENT specialists (criminal not to be visiting one regularly) to recommend audiophile grade ear buds and ear drops to all their patients so that prices come down on higher and that would enable us to spend more on quality audio gear.

First you need to find audiophile ENT specialist who will understand real needs. I think we have one on our forum. I think is forum name itself is ENTsurgeon

What is the crossover setting in your ear? Wanna try putting some paper-in-oil caps on your eardrums? :p

Yeah. The doctor can bill proportionately for audiophile grade treatment like we see for ICs and power chords :D

I don't know what all this fuss is about. Don't you all have audiophile ear wax?

It is guaranteed to give a frequency-flat response, doing nothing but lowering the perceived volume. All you have to do is turn up the level to compensate.

If you don't have this special grade wax, I will be posting in the for-sale section soon. It will be only slightly more expensive than printer ink.

speechless :p

Totally agree.

And these audiophile ear buds and ear drops will benefit significantly from some burn in :p

They would also perform better if they are kept on vibration isolators when not in use :ohyeah:

They are called legs, and come as standard issue.

As with all things, upgrades are possible. Soft-soled shoes are easily available. Replacement of the entire limb with a hydraulic alternative is something that would probably only be considered by the most extreme analogue turntable fans. It is much less painful to float the entire house on a fluid-supported base. Wives are unlikely to like either of these alternatives.

Kids with Audiophile genes (genuine ones) can be easily identified from an early age, by virtue of whether they jump around too much causing sonic disturbances, or cry loudly causing higher harmonics to interfere with music. Responsible audiophile parents must ensure that the right sort of kids are born. Prevention is better than cure.

The above approach will ensure that minimum vibration / isolation headaches will occur in the long run.
