Ordered the Google Home mini on the launch day and got it yesterday. Delivery was very quick. With the bundled offer for Jio WiFi dongle, Gaana and Saavn subscription, it was a sweet deal. Had so much fun yesterday using it

Yeah.... It's loud enough for a Hall. Both full size Home and mini have same sound. Full size one will have extra bass. I don't feel to spend another 5k just for bass.

Well, when you look into the offers, it's actually cheap here. You get 10% discount with hdfc card. That around 450rs. Then you get Jio WiFi router which is 999rs. You get 2 years of Gaana and Saavn subscription and 6 months of Google Music. This comes around 1500rs. And I had an old useless speaker lying around. I got 500 for that. Considering all these, it was good option to buy from here.

It's a WiFi router. You can use a Jio sim and use it as a hotspot

Back to topic on hand, u got the mini right? Not the big one? Any differences? I’m interested too since I got the new google pixel 2 xl. Wanna make full use of it. What can u do with it? How’s the range when u use the assistant?

Only difference is the bass. Volume is same on both. Big one has a dedicated sub, so you will get a better bass.

I can trigger it from any part of the hall. They have far field microphones and they work perfectly from distance.

Next step is figuring out smart lights, fans, electronics etc. Any know-how on that? I was told to get a smart switch first. Sigh.

I have placed an order for wifi alexa/Google home compatible led lights on Aliexpress and am waiting for them to arrive. Will update in my thread when I receive them.
I would also probably try out WiFi switches in some time.
Also ordered broadlink rm mini to make my TV, speakers and room switches (which are touch and remote controlled) work with alexa.

Yeah I got the mini, along with that I got a jbl headset free. And the standard gaana and saavan crap.
