great SPL at 12hz in my room

What you are looking for isn't possible..
16hz extension will have severely sacrificed bass in the 40-80hz range..
And expect port noise...

I can understand that when you begin your journey you want very low frequency extension.. but gradually with experience you will realise what I'm trying to convey...

Only option is DIY.
Otherwise super expensive subs from ascendo.

hitting such low frequencies for a sub2 lakh subwoofer is not possible..
only way to achieve this is by custom building a subwoofer.
for a small room an 18" sealed sub would be a great option. both low freq. extension and dynamic bass is possible. ( remember SMALL room).

other option is branded 12 inch subs tuned above 30hz (mandatory) plus tactile bass transducers for extra deep bass.
make sure you time align the tactile bass transducer. Near field subs are audible that is why tactile bass transducers are needed.

if one is using near field subwoofer then make sure to put a low pass filter around 50hz.

if this sounds convincing then we can move to choosing the right subwoofer.

1 very good example is - revel b1. in room it can produce around 115db which is sufficient and very good at this price point.

i am thinking of buying one sb 1000 pro for music only. will it fill my room with decent basss? room is 13feetx11feet
 
another example is CSC audio CR 10s.
on seeing the specs almost everyone will rule it out- for sure.
but i have installed this tiny looking subwoofer in a 23 by 13 feet room- that too at the wall mid point.

and the results were shocking- even i was not expecting such level of dynamics, clarity, depth, transients from it.
company rated specs are 48hz +/- 3 dB and in room it was easily touching under 40hz clean. The most surprising aspect was it sounded as if it was touching 28-29hz. ( this effect is because of this psychoacoustic phenomenon- " when the peak spl of a subwoofer is high the perceived frequency sounds lower than what it is measured on the microphone")

ex- if this sub can hit 115dB in room peak at say 45hz- this would feel as if the sub is hitting 35hz even though the microphone measurements suggests 45hz. ( this sub has to be extremely fast to give that effect otherwise the sub would just sound loud and the frequency would be felt as 45hz only)

and another catch here is - when the microphone is kept on Slow averaging setting- the spl reading might show as 107dB even thought the very short term peak of the sub is 115dB. ( this 115 dB can be measured if the microphone is kept on fast averaging setting)

and when kept on fast setting- a regular brand 12" ported might reach 109dB on fast and show 107dB on slow- where as a pro audio sub will show 115dB on fast and 107dB on slow-- this leads to the confusion / comparison between these subs- people think both are hitting same max spl.
this 6 dB difference between the two is the game changer.

I tried to simplify this to the best of my capabilities- please let me know if this isn't clear- i will try to explain again.

Playing lower frequencies for a long period in any subwoofer can damage the subwoofer amplifier and may damage the subwoofer as well. Enjoy the sub to the fullest the way you like it. If you wish to enjoy lower frequencies, they are better felt than heard. Get buttkicker for that. Subs can produce such frequencies but there is no point unless you are in direct contact with the vibrations. Even cheap handmade subwoofers can produce these frequencies depending on the amplifiers being used. But again there is no point in doing that unless you are in direct contact with the enclosure.
You have an expensive subwoofer handle it with care. For the fun part you can buy cheap subwoofers and experiment all you want.
To be honest feeling the low frequencies is the best experience, it is much more immersive than any expensive subwoofer out there, do not try to listen to the low frequencies as you need to feel them to get the right exoerience. I have few DIY tricks and you may dm for that. Cheers!
 
Deep Bass (vibrations) travel pretty well through walls & floor.

If you are living in an apartment, neighbours may vociferously complain (even more so during exam times!) and push you to stop using your sub woofer.

This is something every urban, apartment dweller needs to consider, before spending substantial sums, in shaking up the room :)
