Would like to build a hdpc on my own. Has a pentium dual core processor with asus p5b-mx motherboard and 2gb ddr2 memory. Has a 512mb ddr2 Asus dedicated Nvdia Graphic Card GT 210 and a 80GB Sata HDD. Please advice me as to what to be done next.

Now you need to have a Proper HT setup,like AV receiver ,5.1 speakers and HD display.
What is your other set up?

I just looked up the specs of the Asus P5B MX motherboard.
It is lacking both an HDMI and a digital audio out. Ideally for Home Theatre uses, a HDMI out is very useful to have

It does have 6 channel analog out. So if you dont have a AVR or an amplifier yet, pick one which accepts 6ch audio in

Adding to what grunthos has said you will need a HDMI card with audio passthrough.

He has Graphic card GT 210 too and can pass 5.1 audio but not HD audio.
